Flavorless Salt

ree

Luke 14: 34-35

How crazy is it to use salt on your food that has no flavor.

Like what if your seasoning literally taste like nothing. At that point it is no longer useful, having lost its distinctiveness or effectiveness.. wouldn’t you agree?

To that point, how useless would we be as the body of Christ who did not operate in His purpose? As the hands of feet of God in the earth?

In Luke 14, Jesus is explaining that men would cast out salt that loses its savour. In the parable that Christ is using, I think it’s important to note that he was first talking to a multitude of people. Instructing them that they need to count the cost of a life like Christ. Additionally saying, be mindful that if you don’t live “on purpose” you are the same a savourless salt.

Don’t get thrown out like the salt; having no effectiveness or distinction. Live “on purpose”, walk in your calling and purpose.

Ephesians 2:10: "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

2 Corinthians 5:20: "We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us..." This verse calls believer

s to act as representatives of Christ, making God's message known through their lives.
